The Hermon School Department is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic superintendent to assume leadership of its three schools as of July 1, 2020, or as negotiated.

Located in Penobscot County, Hermon is a growing community west of Bangor.

The successful candidate must be committed to student success, high academic standards and knowledgeable in proficiency-based education.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience as a strong organizational, instructional, and fiscal leader who is able to provide vision, inspiration, and commitment focused on providing students with quality education in wholesome environments. It is expected that the candidates will also demonstrate experience relevant to supporting the Hermon’s mission of partnering with families and the community to inspire and empower all learners with the knowledge, skills, and experience essential for success in college. career and community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • State of Maine certification with a 010 endorsement
  • Excellent educational leadership skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with budget, finance, and human resources
  • Experience with Pre-K - grade 12 curriculum and programming
  • Experience with the development and execution of short and long-term maintenance plans for school buildings and grounds preferred
  • Experience with specialized programs (Special Education, G&T, dual enrollment etc.)

Athletic Fields and Groundskeeper

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Prefer experience with athletic grounds, field preparation, and equipment.
  3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
  4. Must have State of Maine Department of Education CHRC approval

Job Goal:
To assist the Athletic Director in preparation and care of all athletic fields and grounds.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains and cares for all school athletic fields and grounds.
  2. Mows fields to appropriate length for competitions.
  3. Lines fields to competition specifications.
  4. Sets up equipment for competition.
  5. Complies with the safety procedures set in place by the district and OSHA standards.
  6. Other tasks as requested by the Athletic Director.

Business Manager

The Hermon School Department is seeking a Business Manager to administer the financial and business affairs of the district in such a way as to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available. The Business Manager provides HR leadership to employees by providing strategic counsel on a wide variety of areas to maximize organizational effectiveness and performance. This is a full-time, year-round position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Administrative Team in the creation of a $14M budget
  • Oversees the expenditure of the approved budget
  • Leads and supports the employees in the business office
  • Oversees invoicing and management of grants
  • Keeps current on all finance and human resource laws and trends
  • Prepares monthly financial reports and others as required by the state and federal government
  • Assumes responsibility for long-range financial planning
  • Arranges for the internal auditing of school accounts
  • Handles employee relations issues in a timely and effective fashion

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with major emphasis in school finance and business administration
  • Degree in Business Management and /or Accounting preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership/supervision skills
  • Knowledge of human resource and labor laws
  • Collaborative team player
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Must hold a Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC)

Rate of pay is based on experience with a competitive benefits package.

Speech / Language Therapist – Hermon High School

Candidates must possess State of Maine Speech-Language Pathologist License and Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification.

Food Services Substitutes

The Hermon School Department is seeking Food Services Substitutes for the 2019-2020 school year who can work positively with staff, and students. Candidates should possess basic math skills, be able to lift up to 20 pounds, and stand on feet during the shift.

Candidates must hold current CHRC authorization through State of Maine Department of Education.

This is a substitute position and does not provide benefits.

The Hermon School Department is seeking substitute teachers for the 2019-2020 school year who have the ability to work positively with staff, and students. Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, and be dedicated to meeting the academic and social needs of each child.

Candidates must hold current CHRC authorization through State of Maine Department of Education.

This is a substitute position and does not provide benefits.
